One more weekend that flew

Days are just rolling by and we do not have any control over it!!

Wanted to have a very peaceful weekend, hence hadn't made any plans, until my mom became all emotional and started blackmailing me to visit home... Bro was in Mumbai for a training from office and mom started saying dialogues like. "We both will be very bored" " You come over, we shall feel good" "I will be bored and if only your bro was here" she also blackmailed me saying that I do not visit her frequently and that I dont stay there much and blah blah blah....

When hubby was informed abt his MIL's tactics he melted and agreed to his MIL over the phone and we made plans to visit our Mom's house (yet again based on my Mom's demand)

Friday-

Instead of travelling a whole lot on Saturday we went directly to Mom's house on Friday after our Office...Mom's house visit with hunny = Lots of Khaana. This time as usual it was hubbys Faaaav - Idli Vada and Saambhar for dinner.. After dinner we chatted for sometime and guess what we watched "Bommarillu" I wanted hubby to watch this movie so badly from a long long time and finally got a chance to watch it.. Thanks to Mom who had recorded it for her SIL :p Saw half the movie and went to Sleep..

Shopping Saturday

Grrrrrrrrrr all coz of my hubby's running nose and cough cough I got up early.. early means 8:30 otherwise I would I slept to glory till 10:00 :'(.. Had hot hot ginger tea and soon breakfast was ready.. Thanks to Mommy this time it was my fav dosa and avarekai gojju (Yes I was fortunate enough to eat it again...) it has now become hubby's fav too.. Had breakfast and instead of hurring for our pending shopping me n hubby started watching the rest of the movie "Bommarillu" as expecting hubby loved it too..

At around 1:00 me, hubby, mom n dad left to J.P.Nagar central as we had to shop for hubby's clothes.. I was fed up of seeing him int he same checked shirts that I put my foot down and demanded him to shop... Again he ended up buying some more checked shirts.. :( this time different colours.. Dad and his SIL in one side and me n Mom in the other side we shopped and had light Lunch @ Mc D.. Again resumed some more shopping and had nice coffee @ Ragigudda SLV while on the way back to mom's house... Mom insisted we had dinner and hence had Dosa and avarekai gojju + Akki Roti and Averekai gojju (different type made especially on Bhogi habba on 14th Jan). after such a eating marathon we left to our home..
Instead of hitting the bed directly we ended up watching a movie "I am Kalam" it was a nice short movie and then we slept off @ 1:00

Sunday - Shankaranti

For some or the other reason I was in no festive mood this time, Mom had prepared chutney for Idlis for breakfast and instantly I decided to prepare sambhar.. Called up mom n took the recipe and prepared it and served breakfast when I asked hubby how was it tasting.. he replied - "Its good but you cant match ur Mom's prepared sambhar" I was like :'( then he consoled me by saying "See she has a lot of experience in this area and u are pretty naive.. I said urs is good but cannot match your mom's dats it!! you will soon learn"
Hammmm I ask him to be frank with me in opinions and then I crib on why he is so frank... I considered it as a compliment and moved on....... :) Yes I secretly know that I cant beat my mom's cooking she is the bestest!!

After cleaning and washing, I had bath and performed pooja to the god, we had offered pongal (sweet and khara) to god, and had a nice Delicious Lunch... After a heavy lunch we took some nap.. I forced myself and woke up @ 5:30 pm.. Prepared nice tea and 2 8:00 pm we went out to finish some sundry activities and returned home for dinner.. The weekend was over... I couldn't believe it!! another dreadful Monday was peeking soon... I ironed 10% of the truck full of clothes and finally we retired to bed!!

Random Updates from the Week that was!

Shopping Saturday -

After 1 year 4 months of marriage hubby wanted me to buy Gold.. Yes you hear me right.. Me and Gold were like not so close to each other, I always claimed that I am not a Gold types u know.. but Mom used to always tell me, lets see how you will be after marriage... Yes I have started to Like gold ornaments.. .. BUT wait....STILL not the BIG, BOLD, GOLD types I still like the simple, cute types..:)  Me n hubby would miserably fight and fail to Zero down one one thing coz I go for the simple, cute, not so heavy types, where he goes by the weightage (grams of gold) types..  so invited my parents to accompany and help us make a purchase... My sweet parents immedietely agreed to accompany us while bro cudnt as he had some offc work..

I got down @ the LIC office @ JP Nagar to pay our Policy due and make some enquiry while I sent hubby to pick up my Partents... Cleaver fellow calls me up and tells me to take an auto to the jewellery shop as there is too much traffic there to pick me up.. :'( The fellow ditched his wife over her parents... :'( I was secretly happy about this choice (no-choice) and happily took an auto and reached our first J shop..

One after the other we ran around many J shops and meantime had an awesome Lunch @ "Subz" Jayanagar...Our Hungry tummies Gulped down the Yummm Soup, Starters and Main course within minutes.. :) Then continued our jewellery hunt, finally we bought wat we were looking for.. My parents claim that "Its not that easy to please me  and  were so glad that they did not have to choose a boy for me "  Yes I do not agree upon anything so easily :p

Reached home by 11:00 after Delicious dinner @ Mom's house.. When Hubby comes to our Mom's house he doesn't bother to look at the clock, I am the one who keeps saying.. Shall we go, its late.. So I am branded the bad one by my parents n Bro... This time bro and hubby were happily looking @ some snaps in FB not realising that it was late for us to leave... Each and every time I leave to my home form Mom's house the feeling is so -------------- Any amount of time spent there with hubby is JUST not enough,,, Basically no words to describe... (**Anti Jinx**) **Touchwood**

Sunday - Guests @ home

My cleaning which was not done on Saturday was shifted to Sunday + the preparations for Guests @ home..

Guests were actually my BIL's future In-laws.. One highlight of the visit was the number of languages used to communicate.. They do not know Kannada and we do not know Tamil.. Uncle knows Hindi well and Aunty English... my FIL was speaking in English n Hindi (Business language) and MIL was talking to Aunty in Hindi but she was talking in English... I was able to understand their Tamil and trying to answer back in Telgu-mix-Tamil-mix-English-mix-Hindi... Abbbba total Choas...

At one point of time hubby's little nephew Mintoo asks me- "How many languages are being talked here??"

One such Funny Incident was when our FIL was saying that "Hum yeah dhaalenge, wow Daalenge" (referring to jewels)
Uncle was like - "Daalenge means denga?? He meant to say will u put it(jewellery) on her or will u give here?" To which my younger SIL was verifying saying "Daalenge matlab dhenge with all actions" it was very Hilarious to watch...

On a serious note I truly felt that how important it is to have a Common language between 2 individuals or a family for the better flow of communication...Do you agree with me??? I agree that there are so many cased where there are marriages between a North Indian and a South Indian.. I just wonder how they manage to communicate?? don't they face issues like how I have just Quoted below??  

My future SIL knows only Tamil and English, its ok for everyone but my MIL doesn't understand either English (fully) nor Tamil.. God save us from translating between the two... :P

After all this I managed to have so called Lunch @ 4:30 pm and was feeling very exhausted.. :( Was also feeling bad that the weekend was over :'(

Instead of watching TV I slept off soon..

New Year Weekend!!

Hectic Thursday- 


Stayed late till 9:45 in office as I had some pending reviews and fortunately hubby also ad some meetings.. Instead of heading home and reaching by 10:30 we decided to hv dinner @ Radha Hometel (near my office) had a nice dinner... Since I had just posted my prev blog abt my 7 random n weird things, I started asking hubby to list and see if he could nail all the 7, Found out that he listed many more weird things about me.. :'( and could hit only few listed by me.. 


There I got a chance to accuse him that he doesn't know me well etc.... later I asked him to list his weird things and see if I knew him well....I was already aware of all the things he mentioned.. The I started boasting that I know him well and he doesn't.... Something striked him and he started recalling his childhood days and came up with stuff I was not aware at all abt him... Wow with all this new info dinner seemed to be very romantic..


Preparation Friday - Turned out to be another hectic day @ office, wanted to go out shopping with friend G (who was free for a change) but work stuck me here too.. but managed to sneak out by 5:10 PM with hubby, As we had reached late yesterday cancelled all our shopping plans and instead reached home and had nice lovely Tea.... We had decided to go to SIL's house for a family party for New year!! Potluck was decided and the items for me was "Paani Pori" and "Gaajar ka Halwa" ..


I started all preparations for the halwa in the night,.. Thanks to hubby he grated all the 1.5 kg of gaajar, and I took around 2 hrs to prepare the halwa... And turned out to be really yummy...


Saturday New Year's Eve - Got up @ 8:30, prepared Tea and had pongal for breakfast, realised that Maid is on Leave hence washed a truck load of vessels and started preparing for Paani pori.. Washed vessels, prepared for pani poori, packed all the eatables, came down and packed all our stuff as we were to stay that night and had bath to get ready to attend a Friend's son's 1st B'day party... Hubby had been out to purchase gift to the little one..
Managed to reach the party hall on a decent time, while another friend was waiting for us... Hubby completely got busy with the B'day boy and like all kids he also was glued to hubby... Exchanged hello's with my friend and her family who were our neighbours and then had little lunch.... went to a nearest gift shop to buy the gifts for all the games we had planned and organised...


Reached SIL's home by 4:00 and had lovely Tea... Hubby wanted to rest a while but I completely stopped him and hence our Year end activities/games started..... We started palying some "Kalla, police" games in chits, In laws also reached by then and we were all looking frwd for a lovely evening/night together...Everyone were informed that we had some gifts for the winners and all were excited...


The Men in the family suddenly decided that something was missing and then went out for around 2 hrs to buy Tequila... As the men in the family came.. the Party started.. we had arranged all the items in the First floor balcony and the cool breeze outside made it more kool.... We served Pani poori and halwa and also had Teqila Shorts... Played for a while.. Another SIL had organised a quiz game where we lost :( some more games continued... It became very chill and we went to the living room and continued our games while the SIL started preparing some onion bajji's and Bisi bele Baath.... At 11:20 we started playing Housie Housie.. there were last few numbers to be picked and each one was eager to win!! tension had built up and so we were close to 12:00... my elder SIL won the full house and ppl still wanted to play till the last coin was picked... At the stroke of 12:00 we all wished each other "Happy New Year"  and together we cut the Cake!! Had yummy cake and Bisi bele baath and by then hubby had gulped around 6 to 7 shots of Tequila.. Can you imagine!! He never drinks and wanted to try this time... I stopped after 2 shots but he was all excited and had few more...Since we all were tired we slept off at 1:30 AM.. 


New Year's Day- Sunday 


Got up late.. New place so we cudnt really sleep well, had dosa's for breakfast.. we all decided we should visit a temple on the First day of the year, hence decided to go to "Ranganatha swami temple: near Magadi.. The biggest challenge was to have bath and get ready... everyone were having bath one after the other, while hubby having hangover wanted to sleep, when all were ready, I woke him up, he reluctantly got up and got ready.. I asked him not to drive and hence my BIL was driving our car.. Halfway hubby who was sleeping suddenly asked to stop the car and puked... Looked like all the hangover had gone, coz he returned back to his usual... Had a good dharshaman of the god and our tummy's started making noises, cudnt find a decent restaurant hence drove back to BloreSIL.. not ending anywhere I again woke up sleeping hubby.. Poor guy was not spared.. we decided to leave after a much public demand of one more game of Housie Housie... After reaching home, my cook called up to say she cudnt come.. so I cooked yummy Dal and rice.. Had a yummy simple dinner and retired to bed...


Resting Monday- 


We were very tired after a hectic celebration/travel so called off from work and stayed back.. to my bad luck the maid again did not show up... I had to wash all the vessels and ur half day was already over.. I was all fuming, angry, shouting... Hubby asked me just one thing - "When is ur periods due" I replied him it is soon to come, and he said "Now I know why you are shouting..." he took me out and bought me a nice lovely "Raaga watch" I forced him to buy one, he completely refused and instead bought a small cute aquarium with one blue fighter fish which he wanted very badly from a long long time... I started feeling feverish and my head started aching baaaaaaaaaadly... Hubby went to get his car cleaned while I went to pamper my disturbed soul with a much needed parlour session... we returned back by 7:00 had lovely Tea... I cudnt do much of anything and was just sulking with pain, anger...blah blah blha.... Had dinner and decided to sleep..


Relaxing Tuesday 


Got my periods, thankful coz no more sulking and getting irritated, but bad coz my stomach started to ache added with some more back pain... surprisingly I announced that I shall take leave from office and hubby agreed that I should... bid him good bye to his office at 9:15 and from then on I was reluctant to sleep... read some blogs and had an urge to blog too..abt the lovely Week I had.. Just now that friend who had hosted the B'day party had called up to see how we enjoyed the party.. My tummy is making noises.. grumbling that it needs food.. I am here blogging and letting my Blog friends know how my week went by...


Looking forward for a eventful, happy year 2012 ahead...

Another Long Weekend!!

Holiday mood everywhere so here my weekend starts on Thursday this time...


Games Thursday
The entire first half went by planning for the Christmas games on the Floor, Unlike last time, this year I planned out for different games- Treasure hunt, Queen of Sheeba etc.. Read further to know more..


@ Sharp 3:00 PM I being the Master of Ceremony announced about the games on the floor.. Pulled out even the Managers/SPMs/GPMs and everyone was eager to Play...


Queen of Sheeba - Made one of my Co-worker Sheeba and made teams and started Announcing her demands.. People ran like mad cows to fetch the desired items and it was all fun.. At one point of time our Miss Sheeba was almost pushed and pulled... :) The manager's team qualified 2nd place... Not bad isnt it?


Dumb Charades- Second game was Miming Game where a Personality was to be Mimed (Dum Charades), I had relatively relatively easy clues to all and so the fun ended pretty soon too!


Pictionary - Third one was a game where in each team was given 1 sheet of paper 3 pens, and an English Alphabet, in 2 mins they have to draw objects starting from that Alphabet and the team with Max object wins!!
People went back to their childhood.. just like the scene in "Taare Zameen Par"


Clap Game- While a colleague R evaluated the results of Pictionary the enthu was built up and everyone wanted to play hence played a Clap game, where in the ppl stand in a Big Circle and start counting from 1. A clap instead of 3 and multiples of 3, a double clap instead of 5 and multiples of 5... Oooh it was fun watching people confused, I guess they could see stars over their heads... It was major fun and @ one time the group was unbeatable so I introduced a twist.. 4 and multiples of 4 has to be a Chitki...there ppl got more confused and we got our winner soon...


Treasure Hunt- The last one was a Grand success.. Treasure hunt was very skillfully planned and executed too, thanks to my 2 colleagues R and S (Sheeba) it was well played and enjoyed.. Soon after the games many whom I met told me that it was very well organised and appreciated me :) :p


We all had great fun, enjoyed thoroughly and were happy,... It was already 5:00 and I rushed to catch my bus... Saw some colleagues smoking, I joined them and had a cup of Tea.. My throat was aching from anchoring all the games and needed something badly.. They all appreciated me and I felt nice... Just as I was having Tea there came a clan of Managers (the SPMs and GPM) They all praised me for the effort,plan and execution and was very happy about how it turned up...


On the way back home I flet contended to be have hosted the Christmas games twice in a row..I suddenly felt "Monica" inside me.. If u know what I mean, the Manica of F.R.I.E.N.D.S where in she is the "Host" always, prepares food and invites her friends etc.... Though not in all her characters this was a striking character I felt as I LOVE hosting games be it in my cousins, Office or at parties.. I just love doing it!!


Silent Friday - Friday was a silent day... Many friends left soon to go to their natives for the upcoming Long weekends so not much happening on that day..Hubby's nephews were home for their Christmas Holidays and it was another running around with them day @ home..
I was mentally prepared for a hectic Saturday and a Kool relaxing Monday (Holiday) at Mom's house


Buzzing Saturday-


Clothes washed, Curtains washed and dried, House cleaning, making a shopping list, couriered hubbys PF form which was filled months ago and was not posted, bought many carpets for Mom, Had a simple Lunch and had bath and got ready to go to "Sai Baba Temple" at malleshwaram.. I had a Mannat that I would come and prepare some dish for Sai baba and distribute it to the.. Planned and planned and finally executed this Saturday.. We were told to be @ the temple @ 5:45.. With all the getting ready etc, buying some sweets we parked our car at 6:00 (The Aarti was @ 6:00) Me and hubby typically ran, I ran faster than him... I should say... My aim was to keep the Usli that I prepared in front of the god b4 arti...


Guess wat the Arti was in progress and I ran and on time my preparation was placed in front of the god!! I dont know how it means to others but it meant a lot to me...:) It was nice serving to all the people out there... I now really wanna do it one more time.. :) Guess wat we did, we headed straight to Sankey Tank park... It had been years since I had visited that place, as kids we used to go there as it is near to peddamma's house.. 
Took a stroll in the cool evening breeze and had Masala Puri, Churmuri, Boti Masala, Corn masala, Tomato masala etc.. Wat a foodie am I isn't it..


Later visited a skin specialist for hubby and went back home for dinner.


Fun Sunday 


Sunday after spending half day @ home, Washed heap full of vessels as the maid wasn't well... In the afternoon had some lunch @ the Fast food centre and headed to visit my Grandpa (Daada


Picked up my parents n bro to the Cinepolis @ Meenakshi mall to watch Don2, I had least expectations from the movie but for a change liked it... Yeah yeah I liked a SRK movie.. :P 
After movie went to Adigas and had dinner... Ooooh I loved the pani poori Yummm and returned back to Mom's house.. Stayed late till 1:00 AM in the night chatting... 


Foodie Monday


Can you believe, hubby also took a leave as it was my holiday... So we both stayed back @ mom's house and oh god.. How much did I eat.... OMG.... My Fav dosa and Hitikiro Avrekai poppu for breakfast Wow my fav... Hubby also liked it... Went to Metro cash and Carry and shopped a lot.. Dad was also astonished on how much we shopped.. he he he he...
Later went home for Lunch... Oh I n hubby again had 2 dosas each followed by Lemon saaru (My mom's recipe... Then slept off for an hour and then got ready and had Tea with French fries... he he yes we did have truck load of food @ Mom's house.. 


Left from mom's house and reached our home @ 8:00 pm.. The entire house was a disaster!! clothes spread out (thrown out everywhere) Oh god no energy to clean now... so Dozzzzzzed off after a Light dinner..


Hubby was teasing me that I had almost a truck load of food over the weekend and that I should not have food till next year... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to him on that..

Finally with the help of the Carpenter the Bathroom door can now be Locked and the much needed nails were put up on the walls wherever I needed

Inspired by Seema's blog -  and after learning here sent hubby to get some materials to a stationary Shop. Guess wat??? Hubby bought me 2 gifts!! Yeah yes it was a surprise...(U see Nagging Helps sometimes)
He bought me a 2012 Diary and a cute pink purse to stuff my cosmetics!!


Instead of sleeping in the afternoon hubby took me to Art exhibition along on our Sweetu (Our Activa)
We bought Stole for me, a Handloom Cotton Bed sheet, a Painting and ordered for a much awaited Bean Bag(Hubby's fav)


Guess wat we ate Bun-Butter-Gulkhand, supposed to be hubbys fav not mine, but I ended up liking it too, it was yumicious!! In the night we watched Dirty Picture! I liked Vidya Balan's acting, very Bold and yet nice! I am sure she will sweep a award this time for sure!! She is proved to be a versatile actress!! 


Sunday- Relaaaaaaaxing Day


Literally did not do anything..After a hectic Saturday just decided to be laaazy, I was literally praying that the maid turns up as there was heap of vessels to wash n our home needed to be mopped too! On weekends you can see a satisfactory smile on my face when I spot the maid turn up!! I was so happy she came...
Got the house cleaned, moped.. The home now looked clean n nice!! Bean Bag made an entry to our home!! Yeah now we can simply retire on the beanbag n watch movies....


Everyone in the home left to a relatives house except me n hubby.. I wanted to cook something simple but hubby out-rightly refused and instead insisted we take complete rest and hence ordered Pizza... Had yummy Pizzaz and cudnt resist but slept off.. Zzzzzzzzzz


Evening after nice Ginger Tea me n hubby spent sometime with our ArtTime....came up with our twisted version of the flower n this is how it looks..


Later had simple dinner and struggled to sleep as we had a nice sleep in the evening...


Oh god, I shall never sleep in the afternoon during the weekends coz pushing my Bum out of the bed on Monday Mornings is a Paiiiiiin!!

Long Weekend (Long) Post!

Wondering why my Weekend post includes Friday's?? Oh yeah My Weekend starts on a Friday for sure!! TGIF U see...... Friday means pure fun, no work, No deadline nothing... I kinda get lil crazy on Friday's wudnt ask my team wat r they upto!1 Instead take things Lightly on Friday's.. My team used to tell me- "Aap na Friday pe bahuth ache lagthe ho..." Coz I dont leave any opportunity to pull ppl's legs.. !!

Few more things to remember- My hubby from now on will be references as 'A', our Punto Car as 'Buntu' and my Activa as 'Sweetu'

But....This Friday was v different from the Rest Coz it was a "Flop Friday"

Woke up @ 6:00 with oiled hair to be washed, Turned the Tap On while rubbing my eyes and proceeded to brush my teeth only to realise that there is no water in the tank...
Reason-The motor has been recently repaired n FIL switches OFF the motor (even though it is automatic) for the fear that it will get spoilt once again...

Result- I had to quickly wake up hubby to switch ON the motor for me while I changed over and went up and prepared Tea for us and Pack the Lunch.. No water int he Geyser tank too so I had to hv head bath in the Cold Cold Water in the Chill Chill Morning....

It was already Late and Sweetu my Activa refused to Start... 

Probable Reasons-

1. After almost 1 year + Sweetu was pampered with her Much needed Service, She was all Cute, Spic and Span, Clean and was looking Lovely
2. After writing and re-writing "Bike wash" in my ever increasing To-Do-List finally A agreed and took sweetu to pamper (Service)

Result- Sweetu became Lazy n refused to start... A came out and kicked on Sweetu's Ass to wake her up(Gave a Kick Start).. To take the Revenge Sweetu started shaking and shivering, when I was scolding her a passer by Aunty (In another Activa) told me that Sweetu had no Air in her Tyres.....
Grumbling.. I parked her near a park and ran to catch my office bus... Later called A and asked him to take sweetu to a Doctor (Automobile shop for repair) and asked him to be nice to her this time..

I was praying not to hv any more mishaps and in Office wanted to do something important only to realise that I did not hv access to it (Actually Late realisation)

Since Me and A both were lil upset about the recent turn of events and wanted to break free and hence did the following-
1. Instead of our usual Dosa joint we wanted to explore a new place and had Bad sad dosa :( Thank god we ordered only 1...
2. I demanded for a Cigarette and so he bought 2.. (I always wanted to smoke with hubby, was v curious to know how it feels to smoke.. Mom used to call me crazy but yes I am one)
3. Went to a Bakery and had Veg Puffs (was not great again)

Finally returned home and later finished dinner and came down!!

Can you guess wat I did??????

Finally one of my dream came true!! A dream of smoking a cigarette with the person I love the most!!
Aaaaaaaah 4 puffs of ciggi and I coughed n coughed followed by Puking!!!
I decided that enough for one time and I shall never smoke in Future!! You know "Smoking is Injurious to health and that marks FULLSTOP(.) to my curiosity" Amen!!

Decided to watch a Movie.. Crazy me not minding to find out the reviews had downloaded English Movie "Bad Teacher" Oh it was such a Bakwaaaaas movie ....We managed to watch only half no more!!

Shopping Spree Saturday -

The depressed me wanted lil Girlie time hence G and me decided to meet up @ commercials and go for a girlie shopping spree!

A and I left home by 10:30, A dropped me 2 Safina Plaza and continued as he had some work. G told me she was running lil late hence I decided to hunt for a nice shop to buy artificial jewellery, I spent almost 1 hr b4 she arrived and we both continued to hunt/dig out and purchased 1000/- worth artificial jewellery each...

Proceeded further.. Bags, Jeans, Tops, Slippers,Bangles, Clothes  u name it we shopped it!! In between had a not so nice meal (snack) in one of my ex-fav place- Woody's, yes the quality of food is reduced so is the Quantity..
Heard from hubby and he came to pick me up, we dropped G to a bus stop and proceeded further, completely engrossed with his work A hadn't had Lunch till 6:00 pm Grrrrr
We did not bother about the Lunar Eclipse and instead he had Dosa and I had Pani puri.. Had a nice Coffee and went back home...Both the SILs n their sons had come home as we had to leave to Madurai on Sunday to see the gal whom BIL had fallen in love with.. Had dinner together n went down to pack our stuff.. Instead of getting up sooooon + Having head bath  + getting ready we decided to hv bath in the night n sleep

Travel + Meeting Sunday-

Left Blr at 7:00 AM and travelled to Dindigal, near Madhurai to meet my future SIL's family.. Entire Hubby's side family (10 ppl) travelled in a Tempo traveller. Played games, talked n had fun especially with hubby's nephews Chintoo and Mintoo.. Reached their home @ around 3:00 and stayed there till 6:00 PM.. Later proceeded to Madurai and took a Lodge, First time ever I shared a room with hubby + the 2 kids.. Had dinner (Not so good dinner) and watched some TV and Slept Off Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Temple + Travel Monday-

Early morning got up and got ready to visit the Famous Madurai Meenaksi Temple @ 5:30 am. In the huge temple A, myself and kids lost the others and hence did all the dharshanam ourselves... Actually we 4 of us have fun.. With kids me n A both act like kids and do all nautankis :P I feel v comfortable with them.. believe me kids r the best, no ego, no J no hassles... We skipped the queues and got a very good dharshanam.. Later got united with family and proceeded to some more temples.. In the afternoon we were dog tired and were sweating.. decided to go back to the Lodge and pack n leave back to Blr..Namma Bangalooru... :)
The journey till Lunch was good as we played many games and had awesome Lunch in a good restaurant and we all dozed off.. The journey seemed to be never ending, we were all tired and wanted to reach home soon!! Reached Blr soon but took a long time to reach home...

At 10:30 PM reached home and cooked hot hot Upma for all and had dinner and retired to Bed Zzzzzzzz

Some Learning from the weekend!!

1. Keep lots of Tissues
2. Carry a small water bottle that fits in the handbag (BTW carry a small handbag)
3. Google the place of ur Visit n keep the story Handy 
4. Keep Loads of stories ready to tell Hubby n the Kids... :)
5. Know the History of the pace you Visit
6. Carry some Chocs.. which I did not this time.. :(
7. Learn to keep my mouth shut and instead watch in Silence (Now this is difficult for a person like me)
8. Hv Loads of fun (Like we did)
9. Keep a Translator Book so that you can speak basic sentences in the Local Languages (Highly  Imp in Tamil Nadu)
10. Never try to Smoke again... Or if you wanna Puke then Smoke!!

Weekend Saga-2 Amma Mane!

I just realized that I have not been writing any blogs in the last few days..Oh No I am not busy @ all.. Just that the time flies by..

An empty mind is a devil's workshop is so damn true!! I am relatively free in the last few days and my mind is actually become a devil's workshop..

• My To-do-List is ever increasing…with not many ticks against the tasks that are completed..
• I have become a Lazy bum, instead of taking office bus in the mornings, I get up late and end up taking Public Volvo bus and reach late to office, due to which I leave late and again reach home late!! The entire day is over leaving behind a very grumpy mood!!
• I crave for a nice holiday, especially after seeing someone put up a post/snaps in FB about their holiday/Picnic
• I would collect all the recipes and keep, but will be in no mood to cook, as I do not like my Kitchen, I would love to have a Big European kitchen with stuff more organized
• I would download a lot of movies but refuse to watch any
• Would drool over and refuse to buy a new novel that I hv been wanting to buy
• Would re-read the same CnH book and dream of owning the entire CnH series once promised by hubby on our Anniversary
• Would love to do some art work but lack the energy
• Would have the urge to blog but loose interest to do so immediately

All these r the effect of boredom, empty without work in office!! Some weeks back I had so much work and still wanted to do everything I just mentioned but due to lack of time I couldn't do it, Now that I have time I lack the passion or interest to do it...

Is there a solution to all this?? Yes there is… If hubby is reading this "I wanna Holiday" :) Nice way to demand one… :p
Ok here is my weekend Updates.. Mostly Amma Mane, oh believe me - visiting Amma mane makes me feel so relaxed (Mind body and Soul) that I actually feel fresh on the coming Monday.. :) 

Thursday 17th Nov - After office drove down to Tumkur to attend a friend's wedding Reception and returned home back by 11:30 PM
Hardly met any friends as they were visiting the next day, another Friend declared his marriage and informed it will be in Feb @ Mangalore.

Friday 18th Nov- Came late to office and left late too, was in full josh as we had planned to go for shopping in the weekend but hubby had an interview to attend on Saturday hence we planned to go to Mom's house after his interview
I was so happy as Hubby called up just before leaving office and informed me that we shall go to the much due "Pizza hut" for dinner today, when I enquired it will be late blah blah, hubby promised that he shall handle it and tell that we shall be late from office etc.. I was thrilled that we shall go for a Dinner Date and that too in my fav Pizza joint… With all hopes n dreams I travel back home in Office bus.

I got down n called hubby to know where has he reached  (generally when I am late he comes to pick me when he returns from Office) He informed me that something came up and he couldn't come soon and he will be late, Disappointed I walked towards the Bus Stop and was waiting for the BMTC bus.. The Auto walaas refused to come to my area and hence I took a bus to R T Nagar and from there again another bus to Sulthanpalya.. I was jammed between so many people and was suffocating.. The idea of walking 15 mins from there to home made me feel good as I wanted some fresh air!! Like a tortoise I was counting my steps… Purchased Potato chips n Sprite hoping that we can watch a movie in the night..

Hubby calls up and zooooomed in to pick me up and drop me home.. I was surprised to see him coz I expected he will be home only after I reach to which he said "Somehow I wanted to pick u and drop you home today, no matter it is just few meters away, I wanted to drop u today as I cancelled our dinner plans.." Felt nice and we took a drive back home..
Wanted to watch a movie @ home, but slept soon as we had to get up soon the next day

 Saturday 19th Nov- Relatively got up soon as hubby had a interview to attend, I prepared hot hot Upma and sent hubby, After breakfast cleaned home and washed a truck load of clothes and left for Bank to drop a cheque, gave clothes to Iron, my dress for repair and went to a supermarket to buy stuff

For Lunch along with Rice and Dal I prepared Corn Omelet and after Lunch I had bath and packed as we had decided to go to Mom's house while hubby took a nap..
Then left to mom's house by 5:00 and reached by 6:00 PM, Enroute we had packed nice Vada, bonda bajji to have with Evening Tea…

After Yummy tea and snacks mom insisted we go out for shopping or Dinner but we all refused to step out wanting to stay home and chill..
We watched a comedy movie "The Punjab something…" I completely forgot it was a Hinglish movie based on some Singing contest called "Desi Idol" similar to Indian Idol, it was a comedy movie and we all enjoyed it and went back to sleep..Zzzzzz

 Sunday 20th Nov - Got up late, Had nice tea with Madhur vada (Mayya's madhur vada) and mom was ready with one of the special Breakfasts, Oth shavige, it is basically vermicelli made of rice, completely home cooked, 2 types one which can be eaten with the ghas ghas kheer and the other like lemon rice she prepares the vermicelli…After yummy breakfast, we were lying on the sofa watching TV,, Finally we got ready to go to Meenakshi maal Bannergatta, had Meals @ Mc D and headed for shopping, we both shopped a lot and also took a dress for mom too!!

Booked a movie Ticket for "Tintin in 3D" for the 9:50 PM show, I was shocked as hubby nodded for the movie even though it was a light night show and we had to go home too in the night.. Visited my Maama's house actually first time after marriage and then returned home… I packed all our stuff as we were to leave to our home after the movie, we headed to Cinepolis and had a great time watching the Movie first time with Mom, dad n bro after our marriage.. After the movie we left home and reached at 11:30 PM, I unpacked all the stuff and hit the bed around 1:00 AM..

P.S- The Pizza treat which was planned is still Due and my taste buds are craving for the Pizza Hut garlic bread and the movie plan @ home is also unfulfilled yet..

If I die now,, My soul will BE UNSATISFIED and will wander to hv Garlic bread in PH and watch a Movie @ home with hubby… :P :D :)

Weekend Saga-1

Friday 21st Oct 2011 -

Visited Mom's house as Mom n dad in a row was not keeping well.. Also today was Hubby's last day in his office.. His office is v close by to Mom's house, so whenever I felt like seeing them I would go and ask hubby to come over, we used to hv dinner n leave for the house... This will not happen anymore.. Now mom's house will be very rare.. :( wud be difficult to meet them whenever I want to :(

Had nice tea, snacks, chat wit parents and after hubby came, we had dinner and reached at almost 11:00
we both were exhausted by then. Fortunately hubby had some meeting in Rajajinagar for


Saturday 22nd Oct 2011-

A good friend L has recently left our company and was also undergoing a personal crisis so according to hubby's suggestion me and friend G decided to visit L @ her PG..
Met Friends on weekend first time without hubby after marriage.. Felt nice.. by seeing L's Paying guest, I recalled the days where I had spent in PG,Hostel and in a house with friends...

Had a nice time with L and G, Visited the Baba Mandir that L would talk about most of the times and had Yummy North Karnataka Lunch @ Nalapaka, Rajajinagar.. Added this hotel to my list of fav dinning places.
Hubby picked me up and we returned home by 4:00. Since we had planned to attend a Cousin's wedding Reception, I soon rushed into the Parlour to get oil massage and eyebrows done..and since I was very exhausted for the day I went to bed to relax while hubby happily was snoring in glory...


When the alarm rang @ 6:00, both were in no mood to get up and get ready for the reception... Cancelled the program as it was too far n we were too tired... I prepared a nice garam garam Ginger tea and applied oil to hubby... That day completed soon..

Morning session of washing clothes n Cleaning the House

Evening @ around 4:00 PM Durga Parameshwari Temple Visit!!

MIL was feeling kind of lonely, Hence hunted out for a nice Temple in Blr, Thanks to friend L who suggested that this Temple in Vidyaranyapuram..It was really a beautiful temple and as she said we went in the evening for the Rahu kala pooja and we got to see the Abhshekam performed to goddess Durga...
During Rahu kala on Sunday I,e between 4:30 to 6:00 we (Hubby, me, MIL and BIL) lit the Ghee diyas in Lemon for the goddess and like they say a wish well there was a statue of goddess to which we can tie a chit on which we had to write our wish...The temple itself was very beautifully carved statues of god.

Enroute to home we did some Diwali shopping too, bought the "Akash Butti" (Sky lamp) to be displayed during Diwali. and returned home at around 8:00 PM.

All work and no rest... even @ office the work is more.. absolutely no rest to mind, body and soul... Looking forward for some relaxing time..

Weekend Khana Pakwaan -1

Weekend means cooking something special.. This time is was "Gajar ka halwa" n "Pani poori" Here is my recipe !!


Gajar ka Halwa-1

 
Gajar ka Halwa:
Ingredients:
Grated carrots
Milk
Ghee
Sugar
Kova
Dry Fruits (Cashew n dry grapes)




Method: Boil milk in a vessel, add grated carrots n keep it in low flame until milk drains, keep stirring occasionally.. Once milk is drained add 3 spoons of Ghee n sugar as per ur taste and stirr.. add Kova n nuts which r previously fried in Ghee.. Serve either hot or cold.. can be served chill with ice cream too!!!
 

Paani Poori

 Pani poori
Ingredients:
Pani poori masala powder (mdh)
Jalzeera powder (mdh)
Lion dates
Tamarind
Salt
Jaggery
Potatoes
Chopped Onion
Ginger garlic paste
Pudina
Black chik peas

Method Paani - Mix pani poori masala powder n jalzeera to water, grind pudina n green chilli in mixer n mix the paste to paani.. add chopped coriander n paani is ready

Filling -Boil, peel n mash potatoes, mix ginger garlic paste, salt, pani poori masala powder n coriander.. can also add boiled chik peas if needed

Meetha- soak tamarind n dates in water separately n squeeze when soaked, boil it slightly in pan n add Jaggery to it. Meetha is ready Mix chopped onions to the filling n keep ready pooris, pani n Meetha in separate bowls n serve it!!! Yummy pani pooris r ready to eat

Am I going Nuts or it is that the World n people around me are driving me Crazy?

Gone are those days where weekends was fun.. I mean just 2 weekends back it was all good..

Just my prev Blogs says how weekends were... I guess it is all jinxed now..
Starting from our Long weekend Anniv ..

Our first Anniversary was on 5th Sept (Monday) we had taken leaves on 2nd(Friday) and Monday and Planned/Booked/Packed to go to Pondi... which was cancelled as hubby was too unwell (Cold n cough n fever) Next we planned at least for Mysore 1 night stay trip which was again cancelled... Next was at least a whole day outing in the "Guhanthara Resort" which again did not happen as we got up lazily late and Finally hubby took me to a Temple +Breakfast and then took me to Mom's house where it was good, we talked, had fun, shopped a bit and int he night went to Bar-B-Que Nation (a long awaited pending treat to my parents)

After this flop long weekend came another one..
My Thought- we need to balance between both the sides, We had given a nice treat to parents on Anniv we should do something here too..
I suggested we go to a Hotel for either Lunch/Dinner with family mostly Bar-B-Que again as they would enjoy the Non-Veg food, Hubby suggested why not a resort instead where we can spend more time and play too. finally we thought the best place would be to the "Innovative film city" I was all excited, Anniv plans was a complete Flop so there was something to look forward too, This also came as a super flop... Reason- SIL had come home last sunday (after FIL forcing them like anything) so they had some errands to run hence couldn't come.. We decided we can plan out something else...

This was one such day where nothing was planned hence I asked hubby to take me to "Soul Santhe" @ Palace grounds which was an exhibition of art/pottery/jewellery etc...
This time we both were in good health n I wanted my hubby completely for myself, Is this too much to ask for???
There came his fav nephew, and one more joined too.. they demanded McD, I instantly agreed and after Lunch @ McD we went to Soul Santhe... I was happy to see the wide range of displayed jewelery/bags/stuff.. I did also buy one pair of jewellery for myself... The kids + hubby started getting bored as they couldn't find anything interesting for themselves... One small comment made by hubby's nephew kind of irritated me,, I hoped hubby would come for rescue but alas nothing like that happened and I was hurt..
Hurt coz he is the only one whom I do expect from and when it doesn't turn out as expected it hurts!! When I demanded explanation he was irritated and in anger we came back home... I so much wanted to explore the exhibition but allas that did not happen!!

I was all frustrated, angry, depressed.... came back home and I wanted to avoid any further fights I was also tired from hand washing 2 full buckets of clothes in the weekend immediately changed n went to bed, hubby followed me but did not even utter a single word but happily slept to his glory...Moreover he also went to leave his nephew in the evening which left me all alone to myself which increased the loneliness in me.. I so much wanted to talk to my mom, I missed her so much but did not call her.. Instead was very silent the entire day...

Dont we women have feelings? dont we get hurt? don't we have mood swings? Cant Men understand the meaning of Hormonal changes???? Is it so difficult to cope up with us after one year of marriage??

How can someone expect you to be happy, smiling all the time????????
